DEMING — State transportation officials will hold an open house to talk about several projects planned along the Mount Baker Highway, including two major roundabouts.

The state Department of Transportation is planning everything from repaving much of the highway to installing roundabouts at Everson-Goshen and Lawrence roads. Lawrence Road connects with the Mount Baker Highway at Nugents Corner.

The open house will have information on the roundabouts, Britton Road to Coal Creek Bridge repaving, Gallup Creek bridge replacement, East Church Mountain Road realignment and Nooksack riverbank stabilization at Warnick Bluff.

It’s scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Whatcom County Fire Station 2, at 5664 Lawrence Road, just north of Nugents Corner.
